Voluntary Movement Restored to Individuals With Paralysis Through Noninvasive Electrical Stimulation

July 31, 2015: In research that builds on previous breakthroughs in electrical stimulation of the spinal cord, researchers report that 5 additional individuals with complete lower extremity motor paralysis are now able to voluntarily generate movements by way of electrical stimulation—this time, through a noninvasive technique.
