Chronic Fatigue Syndrome a 'Real' Disease in Need of a New Name and Diagnostic Criteria, Says IOM

February 12, 2015: The Institute of Medicine (IOM) says that not only is chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) a “real” disease, it’s one that deserves a more accurate name—”systemic exertion intolerance disease” (SEID)—and a new code in the International Classification of Diseases, 10th Edition (ICD-10).
